However, witnessing how their native pili trees have survived even the worst hazards and continue to thrive have given the Bicolanos hope, thereby dubbing them as the “Tree of Hope”. This resilient species, found exclusively in the geothermal areas, absorbs rare micronutrients from volcanic soil, cultivating a unique taste and an unrivalled nutritional profile. PILI BEAR's pilinuts are harvested from wild-crafted pili trees and pre-sprouted, before being slow-dried to fully unlock its nutrients while preserving its original melting, butter texture.
The nuts is protected by a hard shell (endocarp) that can be cracked open by hand with a long heavy knife call “bolo”
